Super Singer3 Grand Finale Winner: Sathya Prakash

Sathya Prakash emerged the clear winner in the Grand Finale performances! The second song he performed from the movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya was absolutely brilliant. What was amazing is that he chose an unconventional song for a competitive final round. The original song had so many tracks overlaid on one another to give the final effect, and Sathya was able to capture the essence of the original with his own multidimensional singing!

It is now difficult to listen to the original without getting reminded of Sathya's version. He started the song off in a completely different way than the original -- it took a while for me to realize that he was about to start Omana Penne! It was so refreshing. Then he added some rap portions for this performance, which was just an okay but an very apt addition to this song.

Then came the mindblowing portion where he started a carnatic piece and then slowly transitioned to a western style! It was a brilliant vocal interpretation of the original where there was a mild nadaswaram piece in the background of the song. It took a while for people to realize what he had accomplished! He had created a new song entirely with his own interpretation of the original. It was brilliant! Whoever taught him this song deserves all the accolades. If Sathya conceived of this song on his own then any praise from me for his immense creativity will fall short! It was a creative daring experiment ever in a competition -- something I would have expected only from a very confident veteran professional singer. Sathya delivered!

Sathya Prakash is the Super Singer 3 Grand Finale Winner! Period.
